Becoming an Empathetic Leader

Speaker: Andrea Goulet

Empathy is increasingly being recognized as essential for effective leadership — and for good reason. When business leaders exhibit strong empathy skills, their teams report being significantly more innovative, motivated, and engaged. Empathetic leadership decreases burnout, increases well-being, and improves retention. It’s also a critical component to achieving your inclusion initiatives. However, empathy isn’t easy, and many leaders struggle to integrate it into their working style. Nearly 7 out of 10 CEOs fear they will be less respected if they show empathy in the workplace. When leaders are more confident in their empathy skills, more empathic and ethical organizations can thrive.

By bolstering empathic capacity and confidence, participants will learn how to:

  • Examining ways empathy impacts corporate culture

  • Communicating expectations clearly

  • Holding people accountable for their actions

  • Demonstrating vulnerability without oversharing

  • Encouraging healthy conflict that spurs creativity and innovation.

This workshop is designed for individuals who have influence and authority over company policy and budgets.
